Your cost scales with how many web ACLs you protect and how long each stays active. Because billing is prorated hourly, you pay only for the hours a web ACL is in use. There are no tiers or fixed commitments — your charges rise or fall directly with the number of protected web ACLs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
A web ACL is an AWS WAF access control list that holds your traffic-filtering rules. Each web ACL you attach this protection to counts as one billable unit. You are charged separately for every web ACL that runs the rules, regardless of how much traffic each inspects.
Charges are prorated by the hour. You pay only for the hours each web ACL runs this protection. If you remove or deactivate a web ACL partway through a period, billing stops for the remaining hours. There is no fixed monthly minimum or upfront commitment.
It applies IP intelligence that flags anonymizers such as VPNs, proxy servers, Tor exit nodes, hosting providers, and Smart DNS proxies. The database also detects hijacked residential IPs and traffic from sanctioned regions. Updates run as often as hourly, so detection stays current without you managing the rules yourself.

What is our primary use case?
My main use case for GeoGuard - IP Fraud Detection and Protection is for risk analysis of IP addresses, where I usually identify fraud or other activities.
I mainly use GeoGuard - IP Fraud Detection and Protection to check whether the IP is associated with a VPN, data center, or some type of infrastructure. This helps me significantly in analyzing access and in decision-making.
How has it helped my organization?
GeoGuard - IP Fraud Detection and Protection has had a positive impact on the way I organized myself as a whole, particularly in how I analyze, troubleshoot, and achieve faster and more reliable access. Before implementation, this was more difficult. Through GeoGuard - IP Fraud Detection and Protection, being able to reduce this time was a good decision.
What is most valuable?
In my opinion, the main feature GeoGuard - IP Fraud Detection and Protection offers is the detection and classification of suspicious IP addresses, primarily to identify VPNs, data center IPs, and IP geolocation to compare whether the correct location is being used.
Day to day, I analyze processes, accesses, and out-of-pattern behavior using GeoGuard - IP Fraud Detection and Protection. Geolocation allows me to check the country and region where the access is originating from. With this information, I can compare it with expected behavior. Additionally, VPN identification is useful to show when the user is accessing with a mechanism or change of the real connection origin.
What needs improvement?
I think GeoGuard - IP Fraud Detection and Protection can be improved through some transparency of the information and also a dashboard of the characteristics. It would benefit from having a more detailed explanation, possibly through AI itself.

I have been using GeoGuard - IP Fraud Detection and Protection for two years.

It does not share real-time location, it only shares where transactions are made.

Resolving issues with customer sharing devices, using VPN, or locating the address of some transactions.
